Pumpkins!

Lex, Leah, Max and Nicole came over last night to celebrate Lex's birthday. We picked 3 pumpkins from the garden and the girls picked what they wanted them they wanted to look like. It was a lot of work but they turned out great!

Pioneer Pride

Last Friday was the first Pioneer Pride assembly. Samantha got an award for being an all around good student! Courtney for recognized for being the fastest girl kindergartner in the jog a thon last week. Poor Jon was home sick so he missed it!

Mini van

Right before we moved up here last year we sold our Caravan to Carmax. It had 100,000 miles on it and the electrical was shot. The plan was to buy a new one once we got up here. I ended up buying my mom's Malibu Maxx which is a great car but a little small for our family. So after the house sold in AZ we finally got another van! Love it!! It has pretty much all the bells an whistles we wanted except for a DVD player in the back which is ok since they all have their own portable ones from out CA trip this summer. One cool feature is that my phone is hooked up through the stereo via blue tooth and all I have to do is tell it to call who ever and it does. All hands free! Jon was a little nervous about the whole experience. We had gone and looked at a bunch of different ones at 3 different dealers. I had a crappy experience at one in Burlington and he had a crappy one in Bellingham. Haggling isn't either of our strong suits! We ended up having a cousin of ours buy one thru auction and we saved $2500 doing it that way but we bought it sight unseen. We new it was gold and it had power doors and windows but had no clue on the center console and stereo. We had looked at about 8 different ones in person and saw a lot of pictures of different ones so we could have ended up with a cheapie sand console but it had the ones we wanted! I love it!!

Pumpkins

We bought some paint pens and the girls loved coloring their pumpkins! Courtney and Sydney both or theirs on the field trip and Samantha's is from our garden! We still have 9 more pumpkins which we will carve in a couple weeks.

Jog a thon

Friday was the annual school jog a thon. It was a little different this year because they asked for straight donations and not per lap. I signed up to work with Courtney's class but nobody signed up for Sydney's so they asked me to do the punch card for that card. When Courtney found out she started crying which I thought was funny since yesterday she didn't care a bit about me not being with her class at the field trip. So I asked he teachers if she could start with Syds class and I did all the lap punches for her. She ended up running the most laps for her class and beat her sisters by a lap. She ran 21 laps an Sydney and Samantha ran 20!

Cramer's pumpkin patch

The kindergarten classes went on their first field trip last Thursday. I signed up to go with Sydney's class thinking that Courtney could sit with us on the bus. Courtney was on the bus first and she got the very back seat so she didn't want to move up to be with us. Same with the way back. I thought that was really funny. She was totally ok with me hanging with Syds class. I told her on the next field trip I would be with her class.
