A Pirate B'day Party

Sam went to Jasons Pirate birthday party yesterday. He is one of her classmates. I was happy that she was invited because that means she is being nice to boys in class. She even told her sisters that they couldnt go because she was going to her "boyfriends" Ugh! She had a lot of fun and wanted to stay longer!

Surprise Party

The City of Surprise held it's 8th annual Surprise Party this weekend. Last night was the tree lighting ceremony. Jim and Jill met us there. It was really cool. Way more then I expected. They had a band that played a lot of Jimmy Buffett tunes plus Christmas songs! Courtney was a groupy and stood up front all by herself, dancing away! It was so cute. They even had a carnival with Carny rides and Carny games... We were over doing the rides when they lit the big Christmas tree all up! They also had about a dozen hot air balloons "glowing!" It was really cold (the car said 47*) so we ended up going to the car to watch the skydivers (kinda lame from the car since they didnt have lights on them) but they had an awesome fireworks show at the end! It was a fun outting!

Thant's Courtney in the pink boots!

Syndey wanted her daddy to go with her to get to the big slide!

the big pink slide!

the pirate ride "RRR"

they even had boats!

Pick a duck and win a prize (Courtney picked the pink dolly and Sydney got the blue one then was mad because she wanted pink...Sam got a wand then wanted a doll...ugh!)

the hot air balloon!

Courtney was mesmorized by the flames. She kept yelling "do it again!"

a friendly balloon pilot even let her come up close!

the flames of the balloon were warm but the kids still bundled up w Jim and Jills blanket!

Christmassy

Tonight we got out the Christmas decorations and made the house a little Christmassy. I didnt switch out the dishes this year because we will be heading up to WA on the 16th for a couple weeks and it seemed like a lot of work for only 16 days. (plus our dishwasher is broke and we might not get the part until the middle of next week so paper plates it is!) The kids really got into decorating the tree this year. They are really getting into it. They love the playmobil Nativity scene that I got them last year when the twins were a tad bit to young for it. Courtney even had to sleep w a Christmas book! We should always celebrate Jesus! Merry Christmas!

RIP Barley

Barley boy died doing one of his favorite things last night...sleeping. My best friend Kim has been taking care of him while were in Whistler last week. When we left he had been doing pretty good. She called on Friday morning saying he's not doing so hot. She kept him as comfortable as she could, the poor guy just could stand up anymore. His back legs gave out on him. We got home around 8, he was sleeping. The girls all gave him hugs and read him a Christmas book. it was super sweet. I laid w him for a good long time. He moved his head sighed and that was it. He was such a great dog. The most perfect dog I could have ever picked. He was the runt and so not an alpha dog! The sweetest thing ever! 14 Awesome Years!!

A very poetic moment...at 10 pm every night we can hear "taps" coming form Luke Air Force Base. Jon and Mike were carrying Barley to the truck during that time. I heard it but just couldnt watch. Kim said if that was written into a movie script it wouldnt have been believable...so beautiful. RIP Big Dog!
