Kindergarten!!

Today was the first day of Kindergarten for the twinks and they did great this morning! Courtney even wanted to brush her own hair to make it look so beautiful. Jon took the morning off to walk them in. He took Courtney to her room while I took Sydney. They both did great putting their stuff where it belonged. They were so excited! I picked them up and Sydney was crying. She said she really missed me but then as we were walkin out the door mr. Devere the principal said there was a little problem at the end of the day where Sydney said another girl cut in front of her in line so she scratched her.... Just great. Then Sydney started crying again because now I knew the truth. Hopefully she is goo to learn really soon that she can't do that! I have been really trying to work on that with both he girls since they do tend to beat each other up and hey can't do that school. They said they didn't play with each other at recess either. I thought or sure they would but they said they didn't want to. They do have lunch recess with Samantha and today Courtney played with her and Breanna. Courtney also said she made a lot of friends and Sydney said she didn't make one. I hope Sydney is going to like school.

I had a great first full day without any kids. Jon and I went out to breakfast and then I headed over and chatted with Leah. I came and my big chore of was to go through the big box of art work and homework from last year. I couldnt do it over the summer becasue the girls would have made me save everything. I then burned it all. I knew if I threw it in the recyciling or garbage the kids would have saw it. I did save all the good stuff.  I now have a lot time to get all my projects done now!!

a fire

After our fun day on the mountain we went to Bob's Burger in Sumas for dinner and then came home for a bon fire in the back yard. The girls sang songs they made up and told funny ghost stories!

Artist Point

I've been wantitng to go up to Mt. Baker all summer and we finally drove up there yesterday! What a fun day we had. The girls thought it was pretty cool to be sledding on September 1st. The twins wanted to hike to the end of the trail which seemed to go forever, Samantha and Jon gave up and turned around while the twinks and I kept going and going. Courtney tripped and that made her want to finally turn back. The she tripped again and scraped her arm. She said "Mom, I am actually bleeding!" Thankfully we had some bandaids in the car for her!
Our family!

it was so beautiful up there...every where I turned it could be a picture! The poor girls were getting tired of me saying "Let's take a picture!"
Courtney's favorite pose

Jon and his girls!

So beautiful!!

Jon said this rock reminded him of "the little mermaid" so he struck a pose!
Jon and Sam decided to turn around at this spot!

We just kept walking!

Courtney did not like me stopping all the time to take a picture. My battery died so she was happy!

Kindergarten classrooms

I took the girls to kindergarten orientation on Thursday. They got to meet both the teachers (they had met one before) and do some "work." They worked with the alphabet with Mrs. Robbins and numbers with Mrs. Price. I had to go over all the rules and such with another lady. I also found out here are 40 kindergarteners so that means 20 in a classroom! Yay! When we got in the car they both told me they wanted the classroom with Mrs. Price. I told them that one of them was going to have Mrs. Robbins too. We have been talking about it all summer that they weren't going to be in the class. I knew when Friday came and we got the call on who is in whose class one was going to upset. Sure enough we got the call and Sydney got Mrs. Price. Courtney was crying and I really didn't know what to do and then all of a sudden they reason comes out why they both wanted Mrs. Price... She has a toy horse in her classroom! I told Courtney that on the first day of school which is Tuesday, we will bring a toy horse to Mrs. Robbins and donate to the classroom! That made her stop crying and now she is excited for school! Wow I am so glad it was so simple to make her happy. It really coul have been a long year...

Bedrooms

Samantha has her own room downstairs. It's a nice little room with a bathroom. She was really excited when she got to move into it. For the past 4 months it's a battle to get her to stay in it. She doesnt think it's fair that everybody else gets to "share" a room. The past few nights have been horrible and she keeps sneaking into her sisters room. It wouldnt be so bad but she keeps them up talking and playing. Last night we couldnt figure out why the twinks werent going to sleep. We tucked everyone in their beds at 8 and at 9:15 they were still giggling and whispering. I went in and sure enough there was Samantha. I told her she doesnt get to watch the movie for family movie night tomorrow night and that made her really mad. But there are consequences and she really enjoys that. Fast forward to this morning and I go to wake her up and she isnt in her bed. She went back into her sisters room at some point and was sleeping in there. Now she has no electronics/tv for a week. I am at a loss on what to do here. We are about to do some sort of change to the twinks room so they can each have their own space. We would love for them to have their own rooms but this house just isnt in the right shape to add a new bedroom somewhere without costing us an arm and a leg. We are thinking loft beds for them all. Maybe if we redo Sam's room a bit she'd like it! We would let her be with her sisters but she doesnt let them sleep. They usually go to sleep within 10 minutes of us turning the light off but always with Sam it's an hour and half and we are always going in there telling them they need to quiet down. I really miss our AZ house which by the way should close on Tuesday!!

Woohoo 2nd grade

Samantha started school today! She was super excited. She woke up 3 times throughout the night and at 6:30 decided to take her shower. She woke her sisters up and they all watched cartoons until 8. The twinks don't start kindergarten until Tuesday. Mrs. Sterk is her teacher and she has a few of her friends in her class. There are only 16 kids in her class, i so love the Nooksack Valley school system! She is so ready!!
