they just dont them like they use to...

Last week the washer broke. We took it in to the place where Dad bought it about 6 years ago and they said that one of the parts was under warranty but another wasn't and labor isnt included so to get it fixed it was going to cost $400! My Dad decided to buy a new one with the 5 year warranty. He went to 3 or 4 different places and most of them told him that they don't make appliances like they use to. They are now "disposable." The best thing to do is to buy the longest warranty that includes everything then when it breaks down after the warranty is up buy another one. So Dad bought this Maytag front loader floor model. I am not a huge fan of front loaders but they are all the rage now and they do use 1/2 the water. But it takes 59 minutes to do a normal load the longest load is 2 1/2 hours for a "power wash!". Sydney thinks its pretty cool to watch though
