South Beach OR camping!

We went on our first camping trip of the season May 18-20. We trekked on down to Monmouth OR to pick up Emily Pate form Western Oregon University and drove another hour or so o the coast. Jon and I had never been. I looked up a few state parks near Newport, OR and found this awesome state park! South Beach State park We looked at the map and found a nice site next to the play ground and across from the bathrooms. It was perfect!

It was perfect being so close to the playground. 

I made spaghetti the night before so all we had to do was heat it up after we got camp all set up!

Great trails from the campsite to the beach. It was about a 1/2 mile away. They did have a lot of mosquito's though!

I did think it would be a great place to film a horror movie!

We woke up Sunday morning to rain. Made for a quick camp tear down and out to breakfast at the Pig n pancake in Newport.

the drive home got a little boring for Courtney

What a fun weekend. The rain made us realize though if we are going to be campers here in WA we need to get ourselves a camping trailer so the search has begun!
