night time potty training

I decided that once the last box of night time pull ups were done I was going to give night time potty training a try. On Monday May 17 it was the big day to start. I read up on it and pretty much every article I read said it's a crap shoot from 3-5 and you cant get mad or anything at them if they do wet the bed. It isn't considered "bed wetting" until after 5. I think those pull ups make it so they don't feel wet and it becomes a habit to just pee instead of getting up out of the comfy bed. The first week pretty much sucked. Changed their sheets at least once and sometimes twice each night. I bought another set of cheap sheets and waterproof mattress pads so when I went in in the middle of the night I just had to take the top set off and waalaa there was a bed made under it. Sydney was doing a little better then Courtney so I put Courtney in those plastic covered underwear which ended up making her get a really bad diaper rash. I have been putting them to bed between 8 and 8:30 and around 11 I go put them on the toilet. Sydney usually goes but Courtney doesn't. 3 days ago Sydney woke up w a dry diaper yay!! She even woke up and yelled for me to go at 3 am (I didnt hear her but Namy did and she took her) Two nights ago I stopped using the plastic covered underwear on Courtney and she has now woken up 2 days in a row with dry panties! Yay! She also has been going when I take her at 11. I told them when they went 7 days in a row w dry panties they get to go to the store and pick out new sheets...Sydney said she wants blue ones and Courtney said purple!

Your mom, Mom!

Courtney woke up yelling what I thought was Mommy, Mommy...so I ran to her room and opened the door and she said "Not you, Namy, your mom, Mom!" I love it when she visits!!

105

Yesterday for some reason Sam asked me how old she was going to be when she went to my funeral. I told her 70. That would make me 105, crazy huh! I was telling Jon about it and he looked at me and said "well you will be living the last 20 solo since I plan on checking out at 85" (which would make Sam 55) Really a sad topic to think about...

S'mores drawing

At school today Sam drew a picture of our Saturday S'more's!
At first I was a little confused w the 35 3 then I realized she just was just putting their ages above them. Love it!

Saturday night S'mores~

The kids have beeb begging lately to make s'mores and after our fiasco at the grocery store I didnt really want to do anything nice for them but we went ahead and did it anyways. We all had a great time!

I bought the jumbo marshmallows which were a little to jumboey

they certainly were gooey!

good thing it was bath night!

It was 85* out but my kids are true Arizonians now and think that's cold!

best friends?

This morning one of Sam's classmates Aidan had his birthday at chuck e cheese. I had to bring the twins along since Jon went golfing w the neighbor. Courtney wanted to ride on this off road car ride w Sydney but Syd did not want to ride with her. I tried very hard to talk her into it to no avail. Courtney was super sad she wouldnt ride with her. The really sad part was this other little girl wanted to ride it w Sydney and she did! Courtney was so excited to see Sydney on and waited patiently for the ride to be over so she could ride w her but nope Sydney was like "I do not want to ride w Courtney!" So sad again! It was just so odd since they usually are the bestest of friends.

Later in the afternoon we all went shopping at Basha's. Jon and I sat down and shared a 1/2 price frappacino at the Starbucks there while we put the kids in the 'cub house.' Courtney and Samantha started fighting in their so they called me over the loud speaker "Liz to the cubhouse" and they got kicked out! Oh what a day!

Whine

The kids have taken whining to a whole new level these past few weeks. They whine about EVERYTHING. It drives me nuts and makes me wanna SCREAM. There is no reason for it. For example today Courtney was in strapped in her car seat and her flip flop fell off her foot. You would have thought her foot fell off with all the crying and screaming she did about it. I was driving so it wasnt like I could get it right away. She whined until I finally could stop and get it. The second something happens that they dont like they start whining...even about commercials. I have absolutely no idea what to do about this. I have gotten to the point where I dont help them with anything until the whining is all over and they ask me in a normal tone which takes a tone of patients because man they are whining about every thing even for a glass of water, imagine a whiny vioce saying "I'm thirsty" over and over, it's gonna be the end of me!

Happy Mother's Day!

The day started with breakfast in bed...eggs benedict w smoked salmon!

and the evenings apps ...fresh basil, mozzarella, basalmic vinger and olive oil!

We went to Tempe Beach park for a bit in the afternoon. They had a really fun splash pad for the girls to run around. Then we went to Dillies Deli for a yummy sandwich. We came home and I went and wandered the aisles of Walmart by myself. I spent the rest of the afternoon in the shade by the pool drinking Coronitas and watching the family swim (the pool is still to cold for me) and we ended the evening w yummy sausages pizzas and sandwiches!

Courtney relly loved her pizza bread!

I am one lucky mom to have 3 wonderful girls and a super Dad who pretty much took care of everything all day and let me be queen for the day~!

D-Backs

Last night we went to the Diamondbacks game for there faith and family night...which meant there were about 6000 church goers at the game and our churches name was on the jumbo tron plus we got lower seats for only $15 but they were way back in the outfield. It took us forever to get there because I10 was shut down for a good ten blocks because of a shooting. It was still closed down after the game too. We stopped by Costco before the game for a hotdog/pizza dinner so at the game we only had to buy over priced popcorn and a large soda & water to share. We went up to the kids area "the sandlot" around the 6th inning (didnt get to the game until the 3rd)so they could slide for a bit but about 5 minutes after we got there a kid puked so they had to shut the whole play ground down! After the game they had a fireworks show and a concert. We only stayed for the fireworks which the kids really liked! The Diamondbacks lost to the Brewers 3 to 2. Courtney kept cheering "Go Coyotes" and tired to correct her but she said "I cant say Diamondback, GO Coyotes!" A true hockey fan!

Happy Mother's Day! (early)

I picked Sam up from school today (on time...totally forgot today was a school day so she was a half hour late) and she had a bunch of goodies for me, a place mat, a card and....
I love the fact that she thinks I am 30 and she thinks my dancing is funny!

Fruity Cheerios

I know it's not the healthiest of the cereals out there but it only has 9g of sugar and that's alot better then raisin bran!

Pilates

This evening Sam was asking what pilates was and Courtney got all loud and started telling her. I so wish I was recording it the first time because it was alot better then this but it's still really funny...

so lady like

at least she is all pink!

Alyssa

Alyssa came today for a quick little visit (she's down for some festival in Tuscon this weekend) The girls, especially Samantha, were so happy to see her. I took the twins to swim lessons while Sam had some one on one time with her. They came back and then she took all the kids swimming in the back yard (well she sat out there while the kids swam...the water is only 75*) The really sad thing was Sam was so sad when she had to leave today, sadder then the day she moved out. Cried for such a long time...it was really odd. She's coming back tomorrow morning to take Sam to breakfast.

Poor Syd

Poor Sydney ran into the bathroom this afternoon and tripped over the rug and flew face first into the side of the tub. It's going to be black and blue...

"Barbie Doll"

This morning Courtney crawled in our bed around 6:30. I told her it was too early to get up so she had to go back to sleep which thankfully she did...around 8 I decided to get up so I moved and she popped up looked at me and said "Barbie Doll" and then rolled over and slept for another half hour!
