Build a Bear

For Christmas some friends got the girls a Build a Bears in a box. Sam has been begging us to put them together. It looked like a big project so I wanted Jon to be able to help with it so we finally decided Saturday was the day. We got all excited to do it and when we opened the package we realized that this wasnt just a big project but a major craft project. The Bears weren't sewn together. The package said for 6+. It was going to be A LOT of sewing. There was no way we were going to be able to do this...well we could have but it wasn't a project for the kids...this made Sam cry. So we bit the bullet and headed up to the mall to the Build a Bear workshop store. When we got there we were standing in line with a screaming 2 year old in front of us. It was so piercing that we left and headed over to check out the Disney store.

Courtney loved the wall of Princess Dolls

After a good 15 minutes of browsing the Disney store we figured that girl wasnt screaming anymore so we headed back to the the Build a Bear workshop. It was like an assembly line. You pick your bear, get stuffed, get airwashed, then pick out clothes. What a money maker! The girls picked out their Bears (Sydney picked out a cat)

The video is the animals getting their stuffing...

After they get the stuffing they get a heart and rub it all over their bodies (Sams rubbing it on her muscles to give the bear it's strength)

then they make a wish and put it in the bear.

Sydney giving her cat a hug to make sure there is enough stuffing!

putting her heart in

Courtney hugging her bear...

and wishing hard...

the girls giving their bears (and cat) a good air brush wash!

putting the clothes on in the "dressing room"

They haven't let them out of their site since they got them!

a fun time was had!
